THE NOMADIC CHRONICLES NEWSLETTERS – MAY 2021
I had the pleasure of interviewing crewmember Ensign Aaron Hall “Double A” on the 15th of May. Ensign “Double A” serves as Assistant Chief of Operations under the command of Lieutenant R. Mitson, Chief of Operations aboard the USS Nomad 72382.
Q: Aaron, thank you for sharing your time and welcome. It’s great to have you here. Tell us how you were introduced to Star Trek? What series was it that first got your attention?
A: I started watching the original Star Trek long before I can remember. It used to be on TV Sunday mornings just after The Three Stooges. My did and I wouldn’t miss it. He’s the one who got me into watching it.
Q: I’ll bet that holds some great memories spending time with your father and being introduced to such a great show and the Three Stooges, they were superb.
A: Ohh my Sunday mornings were set. “Three Stooges”, “Star Trek,” “Leave it to Beaver,” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” That was every single Sunday. I’ve always had a very good appreciation for the classic shows that are not often seen in my generation.
Q: So how were you introduced to STARFLEET and eventually became a crewmember aboard the USS Nomad?
A: Well, I followed a few Star Trek fan pages on Facebook and someone posted a picture of their membership card and I was like “Hey, cool! Spend $5 and then I can have my own card and say that I’m part of STARFLEET!” Didn’t really know anything else about it at all. This was August of last year. Got a few emails from STARFLEET and the Region 13 RC at the time, and I more or less ignored the emails because I didn’t really get it at the time. Then the Captain emailed me on January 8th of this year and told me about the Nomad and more about STARFLEET, and the people aboard, and the fact that the Chapter is right out of my own hometown, I gave it a shot and I’m really glad that I did!
W: Well, we are glad your aboard and helping take care of our ship.
A: Yes, I recently transferred to OPS a month or two ago now.
W: Congratulations
Q: Alright, one last question before we finish. I know you entered an online poll to come up with a name for your boat. Have you decide on a name?
A: Not as of yet, no. The poll will close on May 24th. All crew members are welcome to vote on an existing entry or create an entry of their own.
W: Aaron it was great talking to you and again thank you for your time. I wish you all the best for the future and safe journeys on all your voyages.
A: Thank you. It’s been a pleasure.
