| ACTIVITIES: | Montreal COMICCON – Holiday Edition: Comiccon was a HUGE success!! The event was packed and our crew made quite an impression! We raised funds for a local charity, posed for pictures for two days and mingled with representatives of many different fandoms. The USS Renaissance would like to express their thanks to the organizers of this event…a formal letter has been sent! Charity Work: The crew of the USS Renaissance recently raised funds for Suicide Action Montreal (an incredible organization which supports individuals and families) and took part in an activity which raised funds for local food baskets. Charity work is the warp drive of our chapter…we are dedicated to helping others in our communities and are grateful for the support shown at our events. New Members: Our new members are continuing their coursework with the intention of rising in the ranks! Overhaul of the Renaissance Handbook: It was felt that our handbook (developed during the previous regime) was out of date and thus, needed to be overhauled as it does not reflect who we are as a crew. A committee was struck and we have now produced a rough draft. The new document should be ready for release mid-January. Many thanks to FCAP Mitson and LTJG Doucet for spearheading this monumental project. Renaissance Newsletter: LTJG Doucet has agreed to take on the mantle of newsletter editor! We are so thankful for his enthusiasm and look forward to reading this first edition. Social Media Platforms: Our public page continues to be a popular place with 1.3 K followers! Our crew continues to “chat” via messenger and Discord and we spend time throughout the week checking in and “role-playing”. Events and Challenges: Saturday night social hours continue on the Renaissance and attendance continues to grow! Most recently, the group watched “Subspace Rhapsody”…and had a virtual sing-along!!
