ACTIVITIES : May has been an incredibly dynamic month on the USS Renaissance, with a flurry of activity and engagement across various fronts. Here’s a brief overview of our key endeavours:

Membership Growth and Engagement:
We are thrilled to welcome several new members to our ranks, reflecting the continued appeal and vitality of our community. In addition to gaining new members, we have successfully organized a series of special events and have laid the groundwork for upcoming activities. Our daily conversations on the Renaissance chat platform serve as a welcoming oasis where every voice is valued and respected, fostering a sense of belonging among all members.

Montreal COMICCON Preparation:
Preparations for the eagerly anticipated Montreal COMICCON, the marquee event of 2024, are well underway. Following fruitful discussions at our recent crew meeting, we have embarked on fundraising efforts to support local children’s hospitals. The floor plan for our booth at the event is nearing completion, and we are collaborating closely with the IKS Rising Phoenix to design a joint booth that not only serves both groups but also shines a spotlight on our charitable endeavors. It is truly exciting to note that many members, including those from other provinces, are planning to attend, setting the stage for our inaugural in-person meeting. The anticipation among our crew is palpable, and we eagerly look forward to coming together as a community!

Social Media Platforms:
Our public page continues to be a vibrant hub of activity, boasting an impressive following of 1.8K dedicated followers. Additionally, our crew remains actively engaged in discussions via messenger and Discord, fostering meaningful connections and even indulging in enjoyable role-playing sessions throughout the week.

Events and Initiatives:
Our Saturday night social hours have become a cherished tradition on the Renaissance, with attendance steadily growing with each passing week. Looking ahead, we are excitedly anticipating the launch of our newest feature, “Trek Talks,” scheduled for Tuesday nights. Invitations have been extended far and wide, and we are optimistic for lively and enriching discussions that will bring our community closer together.

Finally, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to my XO, Fleet Captain Randy Mitson, for his unwavering support and commitment to our chapter and crew. His exemplary work is deeply appreciated, and we are grateful for all that he does to enrich our community.
