ACTIVITIES:
USS Renaissance Crew Meeting: A crew meeting was held on Thursday, April 13th via ZOOM. We had a great turnout, with members from all departments in attendance. The format of this meeting was intentionally conversational as we (my XO and I) wished to hear the thoughts of the crew. It was decided that we will hold activity nights on Tuesdays as this is a good night for many members. There were many great ideas, including trivia nights, joining with our Ottawa KAG members and games nights. However, we will continue to hold our regular watch parties on Saturdays. The crew also expressed an interest in doing table reads and this will start mid-May. All in all, it was a very successful meeting and it was wonderful to see everyone.
USS Renaissance Cadets: The Cadets were challenged with creating a ship activity. We look forward to hearing from the youngest members of our crew! MCPO Fisher will submit a new Cadet training video.
Alliance with Montreal Klingons (KAG): Our friends from KAG continue to attend our meetings and events. We are continuing to plan for the Montreal Comiccon in July 2023 and we continue to meet on a regular basis. This month we focused on finalizing details with the charity and planning how we will organize our time. We have also decided to join KAG in the Montreal Canada Day parade – and the planning for this event has begun.
Social Media Platforms: Our public page continues to be a popular place. Our crew continues to “chat” via messenger and Discord and we spend time throughout the week checking in.
Recruitment/Retention: As a result of our presence at the Mini-Con in Montreal, we picked up a new member and this is very encouraging.
Events and Challenges: Saturday night social hours continue on the Renaissance and we continue to have good attendance each week! The crew took part in the Region 13 April Step challenge.
