Note this watch party features a talk about the Solar Eclipse by Ensign Mariève Michaud which starts at 7:30 pm, please join that talk before 7:30 pm Eastern so we can start on time, anyone not joining the talk will have to wait until it is over to join the watch party which is scheduled for around 8:15 pm. If you are only joining us for the watch party you will be held in the waiting room until after the talk is concluded and let in before the watch party starts.
Star Trek TNG: “Half A Life” S4/E22 – 8:15 pm
In the Star Trek episode “Half A Life,” the USS Enterprise rushes to aid the planet Kaelon II, whose sun is on the verge of going supernova. Leading the mission is Timicin, a renowned scientist facing a personal dilemma: according to Kaelon tradition, individuals reaching 60 must undergo ritual suicide. As the crew works to reignite the sun, Timicin grapples with defying tradition to continue his research and embrace life.
