| ACTIVITIES: | USS Renaissance Cadets: MCPO Fisher will submit a new Cadet training video for the summer months. Our Cadets are very busy studying and passing exams – however, our older Cadets intend on attending our summer in-person events.
Montreal COMICCON: Our friends from KAG continue to attend our meetings and events. Our blurb went live in the Montreal Comiccon advertising package – and this was very exciting! (https://www.montrealcomiccon.com/en/attractions/ikv-rising-phoenix-2/) We designed a beautiful backdrop for our section of the booth and the Captain’s husband is constructing a TOS style Captain’s chair. Our placement in the hall is incredible and we are all looking forward to promoting our chapter and SFI in general. We also designed a flag and banner (and had them professionally produced) and are ready to take to the streets of Montreal during the Canada Day parade on July 1st! Social Media Platforms: Our public page continues to be a popular place. Our crew continues to “chat” via messenger and Discord and we spend time throughout the week checking in. Events and Challenges: Saturday night social hours continue on the Renaissance and we continue to have good attendance each week! In addition to Star Trek episodes, we have been screening Star Trek fan films and Trek themed films – much to the delight of our attendees. We are very thankful to Colonel Reiss of the Great Lakes Starbase for this assistance with this project! We also held a trial Tuesday night event – which was very well received.
