ACTIVITIES:
USS Renaissance Crew Meeting: Due to the holidays and unavailability of the crew, our formal crew meeting has been postponed until next month.
Our Fleet of Shuttles:
Commander Mitson has continued work on our fleet of shuttles and the crew have begun to take them out on “away missions”. We look forward to reading their mission briefings in the new year.
Website Revamp: Work on our website continues. During our crew meeting on the 29th of November, Commander Mitson was formally recognized for all of the work he has put into the revamping of our website. We are so thankful for his time and energy…as this is a monumental task.
USS Renaissance Cadets: Our Cadets took part in several fundraising initiatives connected to the food drive at their school. ENJG Roberge and Cadet A1 Roberge helped with a Cookie Walk on December 5th and two other initiatives – which brought in over $1450 for a local food bank (La Bouffe Additionelle)
Alliance with Montreal Klingons (KAG): Our friends from KAG continue to attend our meetings and events! We are looking forward to joining our KAG counterparts at the Mini-Montreal Comiccon in January 2023. We are continuing to plan for the Montreal Comiccon in July 2023….meetings with the CO and XO are planned for January 2023.
Social Media Platforms: Our public page now has over 1K followers and there is much activity on a daily basis. Our private chat is really where the activity lies. Crew interact on a regular basis and the camaraderie is palpable.
Recruitment/Retention: Our new members continue to be very active in our chat and the crew seem to really enjoy sharing funny stories and interacting with each other. This is very encouraging and we are continuing our efforts to reach out and recruit.
Events and Challenges: Saturday night social hours continue on the Renaissance and we continue to have good attendance each week! Our standing invitation to take part in the Thursday night games with the USS Sandwich have also been well attended by Renaissance crew, others in Region 13 and SFI members from several different regions. December marks the end of the year-long step challenge and we have enjoyed “stepping across the solar system”!
